How to Ignore Sin

God loves you unconditionally. But God cannot ignore your sin and pretend it isn’t there. You see, God is perfect, and sin is disobedience to God. Therefore, God cannot compromise with it. The Bible says…

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

--Rom. 6:23 (NIV)

Each time you’ve disobeyed God’s commandments, a sin debt has accrued. It is a debt you cannot pay yourself. And the Bible says the payment you owe for that sin is death.

But God wants you to live with him forever. That’s why He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross. Jesus never sinned, so He did not owe the wages of sin. Therefore, He could pay your debt on the cross and die in your place.

That means if you will accept Jesus’ payment for sin, you can have eternal life in heaven!
