Principles

Our Principles

Prayer: We believe that communication is the key to a stronger walk with the Lord. God wants us to communicate with him daily. This key time of adoration and worship to our Lord is a must and strongly encouraged. We get our students involved in building a stronger prayer life from the moment they start.

Inductive scripture study: We believe that biblical training is key in becoming stronger Christians. God provided this foundation to us found in His infallible Word. We, as Christians, must understand why it is we believe what we believe. Most students seem to suffer in this area and here a Lake Bowen we are dedicated to making sure that our students are trained properly in biblical studies.

Sacrificial Service: Romans 12:1 tells us that we should serve God sacrificially. Just as God gave all for us, we should have no problems giving of ourselves for Him. We believe that our students are members of the body of Christ and are commanded to serve as any other member. We expect that our students will and can find a place of service for the Lord.

Evangelism: Students are expected to do as Jesus commanded in Acts 1:8 which is to "go". We expect them to share their faith and the Gospel with others. Here at Lake Bowen our students are responsible in aiding the leaders in visitation and outreach. This is key to student growth. Peer pressure can be a positive thing when based on positive backgrounds. This is very important in growing Christ's church.

Adult Leadership: Ephesians 4:12 says that as leaders we should equip the saints for service to build up the body of Christ. This is where R.E.S.C.U.E. comes into action. As a minister of students and leaders, it is our responsibilities to make sure that we are giving the students the tools they need to be able to serve God as they should. Not only are we here to council and plan, but we are also here to train them in the areas of service and worship.
